A City Guide to Palm Beach

Palm Beach

palm beach city guide
Who's ready for summer break? This week, we're dreaming of pink and preppy Palm Beach. From the white Florida coast to the historical glamour, Palm Beach is a coastal gem. Palm Beach is a long, narrow barrier island, stretching 16 miles in length, and less than a mile wide. Our friend, Kim Crossen, store manager at The Skinny Dip Palm Beach helped us pick out the top 10 things to do in Palm Beach. Plus, shop our Palm Beach city collection of mugs, tea towels, tote bags, and more.

10 Things We Love About Palm Beach

#1. Bike or walk the LAKE TRAIL

On the western side of Palm Beach, walkers and bikers can traverse around Lake Worth Lagoon. Stroll pass historical mansions, museums and the yachts in the Palm Beach marina. The trail itself is 5 and a half miles long, running from South Lake Drive near Peruvian Avenue North to its terminus just north of the famous Sailfish Club.

#3. Monday night trivia at THE COLONY HOTEL

The Colony Hotel is a classic Palm Beach enclave with pink flamingo wallpaper to match their pink hotel facade. Stay awhile in this historical boutique hotel or stop by for an afternoon of drinks and dining in their pool side restaurant, in house dining, or bar. Monday nights you'll enjoy trivia night and lots of entertainment all summer long.

#4.  Go back to the gilded age exploring the HENRY MORRISON FLAGLER MUSEUM

When it was completed in 1902, the New York Herald proclaimed that Whitehall, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age estate in Palm Beach, was "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world." Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public as the Flagler Museum, offering self-guided tours, changing exhibitions, and special programs.

#5.  Dance the night away at CUCINA on a Saturday night

Discover the best culinary experience Palm Beach has to offer. Cucina Palm Beach is the island's most celebrated Italian restaurant serving Chef Kent's exquisite culinary creations, handcrafted cocktails, elevated service, and of course, brag-worthy dinner parties.

#6.  Ease your Sunday Scaries with coffee and mini donuts at MAIN ST at Via Flagler

A new shopping and dining destination, Via Flagler by the Breakers is a new mixed use commercial space to shop, dine and unwind. Part café, part gallery, Main Street offers coffee, fresh made donuts and baked goods, ice cream and a collection of unique gifts, decor and more. Choose from five flavors of hand-made mini-doughnuts!

pizza al fresco

#7.  Dine al fresco at PIZZA AL FRESCO

Every beach town has their favorite wood burning brick oven pizza pies. Pizza al Fresco offers a lovely courtyard to dine on burrata al fresco and the Palm Beach pie with mozzarella, smoked salmon, caviar, red onion, capers and sour cream.

#8.  Stroll and window shop on WORTH AVE, the Rodeo Drive of the East Coast

Worth Avenue is the famous Palm Beach shopping district featuring luxury brands like Bottega Veneta, Chanel, Gucci, Lily Pulitzer and more. An enchanting resort destination in Palm Beach, Worth Avenue is one of the most beautiful shopping venues in the country.

#9.  Splurge on a decadent Sunday Brunch at THE BREAKERS

Don't miss the spectacular brunch experience at the Breakers! Begin with favorites like Belgian waffles, eggs benedict, made-to-order omelets and fresh fruit, then explore imported cheeses and pâtés, pastas, fresh fish, baby lamb chops and carved beef tenderloin, as well as a raw bar boasting sushi, domestic caviar and more. Last but certainly not least: more than 30 decadent desserts.

#10.  Grab a sandwich from the BUCCAN sandwich shop and head the MID-TOWN BEACH

Last but not least, grab a sandwich from Buccan sandwich shop (or dine-in for inventive American cuisine). Then, head to the white sand and blue water at mid-town beach. Located just north of Worth Avenue, Mid-town Beach is one of two public beaches in Palm Beach.

That's why Palm Beach is one of our favorite island towns. Check out our Island Haus Co. city collection of Palm Beach souvenirs including coffee mug, notepad, sticker, and city print or shop The Skinny Dip in Palm Beach, FL.
